You have to catch this great YouTube video from the extremely knowledgeable
Miss Teen South Carolina. It is a classic! (US Americans)

Just one more reason not to move south of the Mason Dixon line ever again. I would rather be a Yankee . . . . .

Hello! The weekend is flying by so fast.

Jennifer and Shane will be bringing Rhys home from the hospital today.

Saturday~ I continued errands. I went grocery shopping since my cupboards and refrigerator were bare. I finished cleaning (term used loosely) my house. I then met my friend Lindsay in Hoboken. It was her first journey to the NJ side. She came via a plethora of transportation ~ bus, subway, path then lightrail. We BBQ'd and then went into Hoboken to check out the nightlife. We saw a great band and a LOT of gorgeous men ~ We like Hoboken. We also could not pass up the opportunity to drink Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Friday ~ I met up with Jennifer in Manhattan for appetizers. I then went home and took Spike for a long walk. After the walk I caught up on my laundry (part two, a continuation from Thursday night). I lead a VERY exciting life.

Ysabel turns 3 on Tuesday! Do you remember feeling this way?

Ysabel ~ What a fashion princess!! Don't you just love the purse, shoes, tiara and princess skirt!

Ysabel ~ Her birthday wish was a helmet. She wanted the helmet so she can go faster on her bike! She is hilarious!

Ysabel now wears a pedometer. She got the idea from me. She even had Shane transfer the pedometer to her princess skirt.

Andrea's last night in the city. We started out the by meeting at McSorley's. It is quite the experience. They have two kinds of beer ~ light or dark.

    Jennifer, Andrea, Cheryl and me

We then went to Mary Ann's Mexican Restaurant.

Andrea, Lindsay, me, Shane and Jennifer

Andrea is in town! I picked her up from the airport on Wednesday evening. She went into Manhattan yesterday and met up with Jennifer. Andrea also got to meet Rhys.

I met up with them in Hoboken for dinner.

SCARE of my life tonight! I had grilled an unbelievable dinner and when I let Spike out at night to do 'his business' I went to put the grill cover back over the grill. All of a sudden I notice this huge blob on the cover. I first thought it was cat crap but then it started MOVING!!! Flippin' A this sucks!!! I titled the picture below appropriately as 'WTF'! Seriously! I thought I saw huge bugs in North Carolina. I will be hosing off the grill cover tomorrow. YUCK!!!!!!

I also took a picture of Spike to offset the nastiness of the other picture.

I met up with Annie and Lindsay for brunch at Calle Ocho in the Upper West Side.

Shane, Rhys and Ysabel ~ Rhys is 3 pounds 12 ounces. Rhys is gaining about an ounce a day! Check out Ysabel's tattoo on her arm.

Ysabel with her star sunglasses ~ She is so funny! Ysabel and I went to the park near the hospital for an hour. She is non-stop action and quite the talker!!

It's Saturday morning and Spike and I are just heading out for our morning walk. Spike thinks this should have happened two hours earlier. He went for two short walks yesterday since it rained all day. We even had to break out Spike's rain coat during the morning walk since it was really coming down. I know it sounds goofy but seriously, do you like the smell of a wet dog????

After the walk I am going into hospital to see Rhys. The remainder of the day will be errands and other fun tasks. Last night I went over to Jersey City and hung out with Jennifer, Shane and Ysabel.

This week is flying! I cannot believe it is Thursday. Spike is adjusting from me not working at home to being gone all day. It has been really humid and hot this week so our walks have been shortened.

Andrea comes to visit next Wednesday. It will be great to have her in town.

    Happy Thursday! Stay cool!

Carol's Public Service Announcement: I wanted to enlighten my readers of two great numbers . . .

GOOGLE text 46645 - Text them a name, city and state and you will immediately get a text back with address and phone number. It is also free! This has come in extremely helpful!!

NYC Rejection Line - 212-479-7990 - This is important for giving a person a phone number when asked. The line is hilarious! Give it a call!!

(and don't forget to have your pets spayed or neutered . . . )
    couldn't resist

I met up with my friend Kris last night. She is in town on business. It was great getting all caught up. We went to WinedUp in the Flatiron district.

I am meeting Shane, Jennifer, Ysabel and Linnea in Chinatown for dim sum. YUM! We are then going to visit Rhys at the hospital. From the hospital I am off to Macy's to take part in the Lancome gift with purchase. This is always a dangerous time!!

I then have to prepare for week two at the new job.

Hello! Sometimes I can be the biggest tool! Spike had a grooming appointment in Hoboken today. It is about 2 1/2 miles from my apartment. Spike and I walked down to Hoboken, stopped at the dog park and then went to his grooming appointment. I then walk back to my apartment and once I get on the front step I realize that the keys to my apartment are on Spike's leash. I call my landlord. His phone goes directly into his voicemail. I then turn around and walk back to Hoboken. I stop for the biggest bottle of Gatorade. Oh, I forgot to mention that it is in the high 80's and extremely humid. I then stop for lunch at a restaurant since now it is about an hour and a half from when Spike will be done. I had an unbelievable salad and then proceed to get Spike. Spike and I walk about 14 blocks and I receive a phone call from Jen and Shane. They are about two blocks away from us so they drive us the rest of the way ~ which is AWESOME since we had two killer size hills left on our walk home. We are now home.

I wonder if I did this subconsciously so I wouldn't have to clean?????? I am positive I will never make the same error again.

I swear my existence on earth is to entertain my friends. . . . .

Met up with Annie, Brad and Lindsay at Bluechili in Midtown. We had unbelievable sushi!

The evening was cut short when Annie and I heard about the bridge collapse in Minnesota.

Side note: I talked with Kristin and told her about the subway experience. Kristin has lived in New York for 16 years. When I told her about the aluminum foil her immediate comment was "Oh he has mothership issues." My reaction was "WHAT?" She then stated that aluminum foil is a dead give away for people who think they are from another planet and either trying to get back or don't want to go back and are using it as a deterrent. I did not know aluminum foil had such powers!
