Kristin, Carolyn and I went out on Thursday night. We went to Centrico in Tribeca. The food was fabulous! We then went to Montero's to enjoy the juke box and 'try' to play some pool.

Carolyn and I did a trial run to where her audition will be held. We then met up with Carolyn's friend Annie from Minneapolis. We enjoyed coffee and then went to Wined Up (913 Broadway between 20th and 21st) ~ What a cute little place. I read about it in TimeOut New York.

The Berkshires were great. Krisitin and I enjoyed ourselves at the Karpula house (spa). I kicked Kristin's ars in Monopoly! :-) Watch out she is a little bitter.

Kristin and I are going to their country home this weekend in the Berkshires. Joe thinks Kristin needs a girl weekend, who are we to argue??? We are bummed that Jennifer could not make it but she is not feeling well and wanted to stay close to home. We have spa appointments on Saturday morning ~ YEAH! I definitely need one after my experience with a 'Waterbug' last night. Kristin tried pulling one over on me by giving it a nice name but this is what I found out about the so-called WATERBUG

Full Story of the Waterbug (aka Cockroach):
On Wednesday evenings I attend Kristin's yoga class. After Yoga I grab some awesome Chinese food from 86 Noodles. So needless to say I was starving around 11 pm. All the lights are out in the condo and I head into the kitchen. Out of the corner of my eye I catch movement on the kitchen counter. I flipped on the light to observe that I have a new roommate (see pix below). If you know me well you know that I was TOTALLY FREAKIN' out. This little guy (about the size of a small mouse) can really move out and I don't have my preferred weapon of choice (hornet spray - cause it shoots far and kills everything). But after about 5 minutes I was able to eliminate my new roommate. So after this surprising turn of events I really didn't get a lot of sleep last night.

I joined a gym this week. Yesterday I attended the cardio kick boxing class. I am a little sore this morning. I really didn't know if I would be able to move. :-) It is days like these when I miss my Select Comfort Bed! It would have been divine to adjust the firmness before going to bed (sigh - soon).

Carolyn Pool (friend from college) is coming into New York on Sunday evening. She has an audition for Cat on the Hot Tin Roof. She will be staying in the condo with me. It will be fun to have Kristin, Carolyn and I in one town ~ watch out. She is staying through Friday.

I am headed to Manhattan today to catch a film that received 6 out of 6 stars in TimeOut magazine ~The Earrings of Madame De... I enjoyed the film!

I received many phone calls from the St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl going on in Minnesota yesterday. The photos are in :-) Special thanks to the photographers (Karla and Joe). The bus was out-of-control!! They fried a 16 gallon keg in 4 hours with 30 people!! All in the name of charity ;-)

Top Of The Mornin' To YA!

I am fielding Finnegan phone calls from Brooklyn. My good friend Larry will be volunteering on my behalf this morning. My friends Karla, Buffie and Joe will be going on the pub crawl. They will be documenting the experience and sending me pictures for my web site.

I am off to Kristin and Joe's house for an afternoon St. Patrick's Day party. I am hoping Jen and Shane make it from Jersey City. Got to love a March snow storm!

STRANDED!!!

I will not be making it back to Minnesota this weekend. My flight was suppose to go out at 11:25 this morning. It was delayed about 2 hours. We then boarded the plane to hang out on the tarmac for another 1 1/2 hours to be shuttled back to a gate. The earliest flight out of any New York airport was then Monday ~ so I canceled my trip back. I am devastated that I won't be able to work at the Finnegan's Pub Crawl. Drink plenty of Finnegans for me tomorrow!!!

Went to Hoboken, New Jersey today. I met up with Katja (Jennifer and Shane's nanny) and Ysabel. Ysabel had a little fall yesterday ~ thus the injury on her little nose. She is so precious. She calls me Aunty Carol.

Katja and Ysabel at the park. Katja is going back to Germany in 11 weeks. She has watched Ysabel now for a year and a half. Ysabel is 2 1/2 years old. I made the mistake of calling her a little girl and she quickly corrected me and said 'I am a BIG girl, Carol!'

Hello!

We received great news about dad yesterday. He is healing nicely and can now continue physical therapy and put weight on his other leg. He is really upbeat and happy. He has physical therapy three times a day. The physical therapist will determine when he can go home.

I fly in on Friday afternoon. My sister-in-law is picking me up at the airport. The first stop will be to see Spike and take Spike in to see my dad at the care facility. My dad absolutely loves Spike.

Saturday is St. Patrick's Day so y'all (I had to bring out the only term I learned in North Carolina)know where I will be ~ Finnegan's Pub Crawl. We have 290 pub crawlers (up from 140 last year)!

I am in Minnesota until noon on Tuesday (20th) then it is back to New York to continue the search for the next career move. I am having a fabulous time meeting a lot of great people. I am getting harassed by Kristin and Jennifer since I strike up conversations with strangers.

Staying with Kristin since Joe is in Philadelphia for work this weekend. Look at the little angels ~ Kate and Kora.

Met up with Darbi friend from college, for tapas at Sala on Thursday night.

This week is flying by. I cannot believe it is Wednesday already. I am meeting up with Darbi (a friend from college) tomorrow for dinner. This weekend I will be hanging with Kristin and the kids as Joe is away at a work retreat in Philadelphia.

I am having much success in New York. I will be coming back after St. Patrick's Day and returning back to Minnesota on Good Friday. For those wanting to get together when I am in Minnesota - I fly in the afternoon on March 16th and fly out around noon on March 20th.

Joe and Kristin got a baby sitter and we took off down the street to enjoy some local Brooklyn establishments .

The week flew

Friday Night ~ Took the subway/path to Jersey City and hung out with Jennifer, Shane and Ysabel. I cannot believe Ysabel is 2 1/2 years old. She is quite the conversationalist.

It is so hilarious watching kids eat. Ysabel first was enjoying her fries with ketchup. She then decided that the fries were taking up valuable room in her stomach and decided to soley focus on the ketchup.
