It was errand day today in Bay Ridge ~ grocery shopping, Staples (print resumes) and of course I had to get a manicure. I am about 18 blocks from Kristin and Joe. I walked over today and hung out with Kristin and the kids.

My place looks out on the Verrazano Bridge.

My 7:00 am flight on Sunday was canceled (found out at 10 pm Saturday night) due to the 10+ inches of snow we received in Minnesota. I called and talked with Northwest Airlines and they could only get me on a plane on Monday morning going through Philadelphia into New York. At 10 am on Sunday morning I decided to look for flights - and I found a 1:20 flight from Minneapolis into LaGuardia. I then scrambled to get going. The flight finally took off at 3:00 ~ we had to wait for a flight attendant. I arrived in Brooklyn at Kristin and Joe's house around 8 pm. I hung out there for a bit and then Joe took me over to the condo.

Carolyn, Amy and I got together Saturday evening. We enjoyed Pizza Luce delivery especially due to the wicked snow storm. Enjoy the super cheesy photo:

Worked at the Food and Wine Show (Minneapolis Convention Center) on Friday night. Angela and I were spreading the good word of Finnegans.

I ran into Pat Ebnet, a friend from Augsburg College. His company,
Wild Acres, is doing really well.

Kris, Beth and I got together to celebrate a birthday (Kris). We met up at The View (Calhoun Beach Club). We had a great time. I worked with them at Select Comfort. I miss our daily hallway/cubicle conversations.

Hello - Buffie sent me the best YouTube video ~ It is really good! Enjoy!

    Facing The Giants

Good News about my dad! He doesn't have a hip fracture. He does have a fracture that needs to heal. This will take 3 to 6 weeks and he will need to be at an intermediate care facility. This is GREAT news! Thanks for your emails and calls!

Due to the nice weather we have been having in Minnesota the snow has been melting quite a bit. Unfortunately this also means that there are some icy spots that occur on sidewalks. Today my dad took a fall right outside the house and hurt his hip. I met my parents at the hospital (Fairview Ridges)and hung out in the ER for about 4 hours today. I am going back to the hospital tomorrow morning. We will find out the course of recovery after a MRI.

Met up with Michelle Derdzinski for dinner (belated 22nd Birthday). We went to Bellanotte. The dinner was unbelievable. She is doing great in school and waiting to hear on nursing school applications.

Karla and I met up at The Times in Minneapolis. We had a quite interesting conversation. You really needed to be there. I am quite sure Buffie would not have approved of our conversation. :-)

We then went to Nye's Polonaise ~ Can you believe the recent vote by Esquire Magazine???

We listened to the smooth groove :-) of Ruth Adams

Karla (of course) joined in and sang some great polkas, ok that is an oxymoron

Karla and Corky - What a handsome fella! He was awesome!

    Hello - Change of plans

I am off to New York City from February 25th to March 16th. I am in the process of setting up informational interviews and hoping to find a perfect fit in the Big Apple. I am very excited about this and have always wanted to live in New York. Spike will be staying at Tom and Jean's house spending quality time with the 'cousins'. Thank goodness for great family and friends.

I felt the effects of my personal training today. Jean (my sister-in-law) and I have been going to Bally's and yesterday we had an hour long personal training. Stairs were not my friend today.

I had lunch with Beth and Hayden (2 weeks old). Beth and I worked together at Select Comfort. I still miss our daily espressos.

I had a Finnegan's volunteer meeting ~ Jacquie is really doing some great things. I am actually going to be pouring beer at the Food and Wine Show on Friday, February 23rd.

Check out the trailer to an upcoming Will Ferrell and Jon Heder movie
Blades of Glory. Now that looks hilarious.

I had the scare of my life yesterday - Spike was running loose in Minneapolis for about 15 minutes. I believe I aged five years in those 15 minutes. He is safe and sound and getting TONS of treats.

    Sunday, February 11, 2007

Angela (friend from Select Comfort) and I went to Uptown to Bar Abilene. ABSOLUTELY Love the tableside guacamole!! We ran into Jacquie Berglund (runs Finnegans the ONLY non-profit beer company.

Carolyn Pool and I went out to Anemoni for Sushi. We had the most adorable server, Brett, who we harassed the entire time. It was an early night as Carolyn has an audition today.

    Sunday:
Sam's championship game was held at 5pm. His team played St. Cloud and it was a nail biter but ended up losing 3-2 in the last 2 minutes of the game. They played so well.

    Saturday:
SnoBall at New Prague High School. All the Ott girls attended: Marie, Megan and Carissa. I of course demanded an account of the evening. The DJ sucked and not a lot of people were dancing.

Jean, Marie and I went shopping for a dress for Marie in case her cousin's dress didn't work. It worked too - the blue dress is Megan's dress from last year. Being the great shopper that I am, I scored the most amazing black velvet floor length dress, now I just need to find an event to unveil this SMOKIN' HOT dress. I am taking official requests at carol.ott@gmail.com

Sam had a hockey tournament in Bloomington. Sam's team won both games! At the first game I was waving frantically at Sam. He showed his appreciation and acknowledgement by giving me the most subtle wave possible. Jean and I were thoroughly amused.
