The weekend flew. Spike is exhausted. We went to the dog park on Saturday and Sunday. There were a lot of dogs both days. I went to the new home to match colors for my shades. I, of course, made my weekly trek to Caribou Coffee.

As luck would have - Kohls had a Super Saturday Sale. That doesn't happen every week does it? (Buffie?) I bought a jump rope and has that been eye opening. The jump rope freaks the HECK out of Spike. He seriously hides under the table.

Dates I will be in Minnesota
I will be home Thursday, March 16th to Monday, March 20th

Spike and I will be home for Easter - Thursday, April 13th - Monday, April 17th

    Have a great week!
    xoxo

    Grooming Fiasco
On Friday Spike went to Petco for a "professional" grooming. I picked him up and the groomer states "I used the wrong blade on Spike, his hair is rather short." Understatement of the Year. Spike is cut like a flippin' sheep! When he barks I expect "BAA". You may think I am making this up but check it out for yourself. The line is so not straight.

The quote of the day from the groomer was "It would have been helpful to have a picture of your dog" DUDE IT IS A WESTIE CUT!!!! This dog is not uncommon. I went back today and talked with the General Manager. He offered to have her re-cut my dog. I promptly stated that she would never lay hands on my dog again and that I wished for a full refund. I received my money back, if only Spike could walk with pride around the apartment complex.

Picture of Spike hanging out on the patio (apartment). He does miss his backyard.

    My first visitor
My brother, Tom, flew in on Friday. When he left Minneapolis it was -13 degrees, in Durham my car registered 75 degrees. What a swing in temperatures. We were even driving around with the top down on my bug.

We went to Home Depot to look for appliances. We picked up a lot of information. I even ordered by washer and dryer. You know I am getting old when I get psyched about having a front loading washer and dryer. :-) We went to eat at Magnolia Grill in Durham - had an UNBELIEVABLE meal.

Saturday - Winter is back - it is 44 degrees. Tom got to experience The Waffle House. He even picked up a job application (which he is holding proudly).

We then headed off to The Appliance Center to finish the appliance order. I am going the stainless steel route. We then headed to my new place to measure all of the windows. I need to get window coverings - fun, fun.

Now that all of the work is done Tom and I drove to the Duke campus. It is about 10 minutes from my new home. What a beautiful campus. It would have been better if we were not getting frozen rain at the time.

What a beautiful day - 70 degrees today!

This week has been a whirl wind. My brother Tom is coming in to help me measure for all window treatments and to pick out appliances. Can't write too much since my place is a disaster.

Spike is spending the day at Petco tomorrow and get a much needed grooming. I guess I won't refer to him as 'stinky' for about a week or two. :-) Poor Dog.

Happy 15th Birthday to my niece Megan!

    Happy Valentines Day!

    Hello!

    Pamper Carol Day!
I indulged in a pedicure and manicure - Much needed I must add. I cannot believe I have to drive 11 miles to get to a Caribou. What I will do to drink a Caramel Highrise. Spike and I did go to the local dog park. He got to run with the big dogs.

Oh the joys of appliance and window covering research. I talked with the builder yesterday and I need to chose my appliances soon. I also inquired about what type of hook ups are available for each appliance. I was highly disappointed to find that the range is only set up for electric. They are looking into the pricing for adding gas too since I want a dual stove (gas top with a double electric oven). She is getting me pricing but this was represented during the sale that I choose all my appliances without any caveats. This week should be interesting.

Items I accidently left out of my trip to MN:
Rental Car: I booked through Dollar Rental Car. I had asked for a mid size car, I didn't want to get a total piece of junk. I failed to ask what type of car when the person handed me the keys. I walk outside and to their lot and hit the unlock button. To my utter dismay I end up with a "Lesbaru" - Is it a truck or a car??? This will never happen again! The funny thing is when I returned the car, the account was already closed out. I only got charged for one day. I talked to the person at the front desk asking them to charge my credit card more but she didn't know how to do that. She told me to have a great day. Wow - I tried to give a company money and they didn't want it.
Not that there is anything wrong with being a lesbian or driving a Subaru Baja - statements above are just my opinion about the Baja

Six Weeks Until I Move (into my new townhouse)!
WOO HOO! It is Tuesday evening - I am exhausted. I had a fabulous trip to MN.

Monday: Flight arrived at 5 pm. I had to run errands in the morning - yet another trip to the UPS store to ship more 'essentials' to me in Durham. My cousin Lisa stopped by - it was so nice to see her!

Sunday: Went to church with Mom and Dad. Dad had the quote of the century - call me to hear about the story. It is just too good to put on the web. My brother Tom had his annual Super Bowl Party - It was a good time and the best was seeing my nieces and nephews. Marie and Megan were in rare form - see them for details.

Saturday: Submitted my taxes - Big thanks to Buffie!!! (Tom thanks you too!) I did receive the lecture of from Buffie something to the effect of " . . .shouldn't use the IRS as a savings program . . ." Yada, yada, yada. Saturday night - hung out with Karla, Buffie, Andrea, Cracker, Amy, and Astrid (and Jeff). We had the best greek food - I miss Athens Cafe.

Friday: Flight landed at 7 pm into Minneapolis. Went to Erte in North Minneapolis - delicious (definitely check it out) with my neighbors Judy and John. Judy is assisting with a work project.

Hello - It is Thursday evening. I am excited about going to MN this weekend. I can't believe I have been at the new job three weeks already. I am having fun and learning a lot. Spike is heading to a pet bed and breakfast in Raleigh. He went and checked out the living quarters on Tuesday. I don't think he will miss me at all. I have to continue laundry and packing. See you soon.
